Over a century ago in 1880, David Shanahan, a young blacksmith, started building horse-drawn buggies and sleighs in Penetanguishene, Ontario. This was the beginning of the Shanahan Carriage Co. Ltd. In 1965, Paddy Shanahan accepted a Ford franchise and purchased several acres of open land in Agincourt. Today, only one Ford dealer in Toronto has been in business longer than Shanahan Ford. In 1980, Shanahan acquired a Ford dealership in Newmarket and expanded into that town.     Many of the more than 60 employees of the company have long and distinguished records of service.
