Frank Serpa completes acquisition of Open Road BMW and Motorrad, Newmarket
Dealership renamed Serpa BMW/Serpa BMW Motorrad (BMW motorcycles)
TORONTO, April 26, 2012 /CNW/ - It's a once in a lifetime occurrence. A BMW dealer has changed hands in the GTA.
After operating for nine years in Newmarket, Open Road BMW will be renamed Serpa BMW/Serpa BMW Motorrad. Frank Serpa, Avante Mazda president and dealer principal, has completed the dealership's acquisition from its principal owners, Michael Croxon and Peter Brenzel, effective immediately. The Serpa dealership will remain in Newmarket.
"When an opportunity like this presents itself, it is time to move forward," Serpa said. "I have been associated with Mazda, one of the best-engineered Japanese autos, for 17 years and now I am a part of BMW, one of the world's most admired car and motorcycle brands. There is nothing like BMW. It occupies the pinnacle of the industry. It is a dream come true."
Open Road was voted 'number one for service' in Canada two years in a row. "We will build significantly upon its outstanding record," Serpa commented. "Open Road has been completely devoted to quality, value and customer service, a practice which I will expand and enhance."
A childhood auto enthusiast, Serpa began his formal employment in the industry in 1974, rising from apprentice technician to inter provincial technician to dealership owner. To develop his career, he occupied virtually every position first in Honda dealerships, achieving an appointment as a Sales Master, before purchasing Richmond Hill's Avante Mazda in 1995. Avante has won many manufacturers' honours, including the President's Club and Dealer of Distinction Awards.
Now celebrating 30 years of marriage to Rosanna and dedicated father of Adriano and Stefano, Serpa is known for his strong community involvement. He supports local youth soccer and hockey teams and has launched the Avante Mazda Cup Challenge in Aurora. In addition, Serpa has been personally involved with Easter Seals Ontario, Villa Charities and Covenant House, among other charities.
