About Us
From the early age of seven Luleta’s talent for cooking was obvious. At that young age, she surprised her father on Father’s Day by making him breakfast. His feast consisted of cornmeal porridge, a staple breakfast food in her native Jamaica – except Luleta’s creation had toasted coconut sprinkled on top. She burned a dishcloth in the process, but the porridge was delicious!
As she grew, Luleta pursued a different career path, but her love and passion for cooking continued to develop. She has used her culinary skills to plan and prepare dinner parties for herself and for friends. These dinner parties are always eagerly-anticipated affairs. Luleta cooks a wide range of specialties from gourmet to comfort foods.
With Luleta’s friends constantly badgering her to open a restaurant, Luleta entered culinary school at George Brown College and Liaison College. There, she further honed her skills and later established My Secret Chef, a Personal Chef Service. Luleta continuously updates her culinary skills. May 2009, she completed certificate courses at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, Ottawa, in Charcuterie, Presentation and Saucier.
Luleta is a member of the United States Personal Chef Association and its affiliate, The Canadian Personal Chef Association, as well as several other professional culinary associations.
